Coastline Rings FAQ
The Cartography Range incorporating the Coastline and Mountains has its own special requirements so please read carefully before ordering, and any questions are welcome if you need further help.
1. Choosing Your Coastline
Any coastline can be used, but there are design components which may influence where it starts and ends. Just email your special place name and Marina can design the best map length around it and consult all the details with you before you order.
2. Ring Size
* WIDTH - I started off making these rings in 2 pieces, with a width of 10mm. Some customers preferred them solid and slightly narrower, so Solid rings are 8mm wide. The split rings need the 10mm width ( total) to ensure strength in the band.
*RESIZING is not possible because of the duel puzzle sections and how the coastline matches up together so it is important to get this part right!
* GETTING YOUR SIZE
The best option is to have your size professionally fitted by a jeweller. Wide rings are a full size larger ( british scale) to accomodate the knuckle. I will size this up for you, so what I need is your normal ring size for a thinner band.
If this is not possible there are a few options -
* Purchase a Ring Sizer from here. The cost includes free postage. The ring sizer works like a cable tie which also releases, so it is reusable.
*If you have a wide ring (or buy a cheap ring) that fits well you can send it in for Marina to size, and it will be returned with your new ring.
*Or download the printable ring sizer pdf file which you can print out and cut from paper. See link below.
Note - please do NOT use a printed paper ring sizer cut into a strip from the internet, these are far from accurate! as you need a rigid circle to get a good sizing.
*If the ring is a gift then it gets trickier.... one way is to borrow a ring from the recipient and take it in quickly for professional sizing, and return it asap. Please also let Marina know this rings width across the band and take some photos.
*If you do have a ring which fits perfectly then you can measure the inside diameter and find your size using the chart below. Its best to measure twice to be sure! (Australia uses the UK sizing)

3. Why do the rings prices increase with the sizes?
As the ring size gets bigger so does the amount of precious metal needed.... so larger rings have a slight price rise accordingly.
