Overland Track Pendant in Sterling Silver and Titanium
This pendant is the map of the incredible Overland Track in Tasmania, Australia.
The front is pure Titanium, each one is hand cut with precision to the map of the actual track, and then flame anodised. The colouring will be slightly different with every pendant made due to the organic nature of the process.
The map starts at the top (North) at Cradle Mountain, and runs south until the end at Lake St Clair.
Included in the design is the Dove and Cradle lakes at the top, and Lake St Clair at the bottom. Then the titanium is riveted to a handmade sterling silver pendant, and hung on a 45cm sterling silver Belcher chain.
This iconic track is a 6+ day hike through the wilderness for 65km, (more if you do the side trips). You are fully immersed within a unique and remote landscape deep within Tasmania.
Upon returning to your normal life, it is often the case where we think back and long to return where there is no phone range, no cars, almost no people, nothing but pure natural Tasmanian forests, mountain tops, high plains, button grass, blue skies, native animals, birds and insects, and above all that sense of connection to the natural world.
